The Fleet
A US Navy in stone
Antiphon's ships are its Colossi scaled up: nothing is built, everything is grown and sung from stone. The fleet is sea-life carried into the dark. The Choral See fields it; the seven Lithic Orders crew it, each drawn to a role. Class names are working drafts.
The Line
The combat fleet.

Carrier
Leviathan
humpback battle-whale
The capital and mobile cathedral: Sarn Ascendant made mobile. Banded in the seven Stone-colors, crusted with barnacle-guns and shields, it launches mantas and fighter-swarms and folds between worlds on the Resonance-well at its brow.
Crewed by Lapis command · the See's own
Battleship
Cachalot
sperm whale
The gun-line dreadnought: heaviest armor, the largest resonance-cannons, it bombards. Not a rammer; that is its own ship, the Narwhal.
Crewed by Granite

Ram
Narwhal
the tusk
A dedicated shock-and-boarding ram: a reinforced stone tusk that charges home, punches through a hull, and disgorges Colossi inside it. Glorious and situational, the weapon the older Orders still swear by.
Crewed by Carnelian
Cruiser
Hunter
shark
Fast, versatile, independent. The workhorse warship: raids alone, escorts the capitals.
Crewed by Pyrite
Destroyer
Swordfish
swordfish
Fast escort and screen; kills fighters and incoming swarms, and rings the whales with its bill.
Crewed by Carnelian
Frigate
Sailfish
sailfish
The picket: the fleet's fastest, lightest hull. Patrol, scouting-in-force, convoy escort.
Crewed by Carnelian
Fighter
Barracuda + Squid
barracuda / squid-craft
The small, fast, expendable end: barracuda for the attack run, squid-craft for the jetting, tentacled swarm.
Crewed by Carnelian

Dropship
Manta
Obsidian ray
Carries war-titan Colossi in its belly and deploys them MechWarrior-style: banks into atmosphere, opens the underside bay, drops its Colossi on trails of light.
Crewed by the See
The Train
The support and auxiliary fleet.
Shield ship
Crab
carapace
Spreads a standing resonance shield over the fleet from its shell, the armored umbrella that swallows incoming fire.
Crewed by Granite
Hospital ship
Anemone
anemone
Takes wounded Colossi into its sheltering fronds and mends them; the field hospital and the safe harbor.
Crewed by Malachite
Supply
Pelican
gulper eel
The deep gulper that holds and carries the fleet's stores, feed, and banked Resonance-charge. Comes alongside to replenish.
Crewed by Malachite
Repair & construction
Coral
reef-wright
Grows living stone, re-crystallizes battle damage, and grows entire new hulls. The fleet's shipyards made mobile.
Crewed by See quartermasters
Scout
Nautilus
nautilus
The far-seer picket: long-range sensors and attunement, the eyes out ahead of the fleet.
Crewed by Obsidian
Science / research
Argonaut
paper nautilus
The Nautilus's cousin: reads the deep patterns, studies Stones, Spirits, dead quarries, and enemy song. The fleet's laboratory.
Crewed by Obsidian
Comms relay
Siren
paired villip-nodes
Attuned crystal twins that sing to each other across distance; the fleet's voice between ships and between worlds.
Crewed by Lapis

Gravity disruptor
Anglerfish
abyssal void-ship
The rare Quartz void-ship: its lure is a false Resonance-well that drags enemy ships in, jams their drives, and unmakes their footing. The weaponized cousin of the whale's deep-drive.
Crewed by Quartz
Full worldbuilding: docs/worldbuilding/the-organic-fleet.md. Propulsion, common to every hull, is the Resonance-well drive (a resonating crystal that bends gravity by vibration).
